Little by little, Google is updating the Material Design graphics in its Chrome 68 browser, pending a more significant overhaul in September in version 69. The changes are limited for now, but you can test them on Windows by activating a hidden option:
- Launch Chrome and type chrome://flags/#top-chrome-md in the search bar. Validate with the key .
- Click on the drop-down list in front of the option UI Layout for the browser’s top chrome and select Refresh instead of Default.
- Finally click on the button Relaunch Now at the bottom of the window to validate the change (click on the picture below to enlarge it).
You will notice that the tabs are more rounded and that an account icon appears at the top right, next to the menu icon which is also rounded.
The process is also valid for the iOS version of Chrome but you must choose UI Refresh Phase 1 in the settings and toggle this option to Enabled.
