Sometimes Messenger forces us to face unfortunate experiences: harassment, insults, account usurpation, viruses… Sometimes the content of discussions does not respect the community standards. Facebook is bringing new tools to help us counter these incidents. Before, it was impossible to report a suspicious activity directly from Messenger on a smartphone. You had to use the tools available on Facebook or on the web version. Now, any report can be made from the application.
How to report bad behavior on Messenger
To report and send a report to Facebook, here are the steps to follow. Go to the Messenger application and more specifically, to the conversation where the user is causing a problem. Go to “Details” and then scroll down to the option “There is a problem“. All you have to do is select a reason:
- Harassment
- Suicide or self-harm
- Identity theft
- Forbidden sales
- Sharing inappropriate content
- Hate speech
- Other
Then select “Send a comment. In addition, Facebook invites you on this same screen to call the emergency services if someone is in danger.
