If you created your Snapchat account several years ago, chances are that the username you used when you signed up no longer appeals to you or doesn’t match the person you are today.
Never mind, rather than creating a new account, the platform offers a new option that allows you to change your username. However, don’t expect to be able to change your username over and over again: Snapchat only allows one change per year. So make sure you choose your new username carefully, otherwise you’ll have to wait another 365 days to change it again.
1. Open the settings
Launch Snapchat and tap on your Bitmoji at the top left of the screen. When you are on your profile, tap the gear icon in the top right corner to access the app’s settings.
2. Change your username
Then enter the menu Username and on the page that opens, press Change my username.
A warning window will appear indicating that you can only do this once a year. Press Continue.
Then enter your new user name in the field provided and press Next. Now you have to confirm your identity. Then enter your password in the dedicated field and press Confirm.
Snapchat will display a new alert indicating that you are about to change your username and that it is only possible to do so once a year. Press Confirm. Your username has been changed, press Continue.
