Available since September 20, the latest version of the Apple Watch’s operating system introduces new features to help you stay in shape. Among the long list of new features in WatchOS 8 is an option to run multiple timers at the same time on your connected watch. Let’s take a look at how it all works.

New Timer app on WatchOS 8

Apple has made a smooth evolution of its connected watch. The new Apple Watch has the same design and ergonomics as its illustrious predecessors. While the competition is multiplying innovations in terms of style, the Apple company prefers to evolve its Watch by small touches. Apple has revised all the functions related to the health of its users.

The Breathe application has a new animation while fans of Quantified self (measurement of personal data) can know their breathing rate during sleep. But this is not the only notable change.

The Timer application also benefits from many improvements. And that’s good. Indeed, many users complained that they could not use several timers simultaneously. With the arrival of the WatchOS 8 update, Apple is closing this particularly annoying gap.

With this new update, Apple Watch owners will be able to launch several timers simultaneously and interact with the one of their choice. For example, you can pause the timer dedicated to cooking pasta while leaving the others running.

The WatchOS update also lets you display all your active timers on a single screen. This is particularly useful when you’re cooking. Indeed, for this type of work, there is no question of doing something different.

  1. Launch the Timer application on the Apple Watch
  2. Start your first countdown timer and then click on the back button
  3. Start another timer
  4. You can repeat these steps to launch several timers
  5. You will then be alerted via a beep when the time has been reached

Each of these timers can be given a specific title. The Apple Connected Watch will be able to display several countdowns in the form of a list, a function that was missing on previous models.

If you have to do several things at the same time, this feature will be very useful. This is even more true in the kitchen where time can be our worst enemy. The use of a timer becomes almost indispensable to avoid burnt dishes.

Important detail, the new feature is fully compatible with the Apple virtual assistant. For example, you can ask Siri to program several timers at the same time. Here is the voice command to pronounce: “Say Siri, start a 10-minute timer. The countdown will then start immediately
